While closely observing great investors and entrepreneurs, I strongly feel, they differentiate themselves from the rest of people in one thing: Betting against the consensus and be right. It is a tough call to make when you are influenced by peers, news, and so many factors whom you can’t afford to offend. It is also a bundle of painful mistakes you survive. You see blood gushing out of your decisions. It is hard. A constant puzzle solving which can give gems to the seekers.
Recently during a conversation with a CEO of a leading financial services company, he said, “KK, we need to find a crack code on how to build the market. We don’t have to reinvent ourselves, but have to use the proven strategies to make things right. It is all about using the permutations and combinations of various tools and ideas to make it happen.” What I love is the word ‘crack code’. It shows the attitude of a guy with a winning tendency. It is a like puzzle. We put things right and you get what you want. Almost like a Rubik’s cube. It is an algorithm which works. Not a maze which never ends.
