After a hectic day in Bangalore, being a Saturday, I decided to be back home in Kochi, before my son goes to sleep. Hurriedly, I booked my ticket and headed to the airport. It took ninety minutes from Koramangala to the airport in an Uber. It is a battle to board the plane in a busy city like Bangalore.
After an hour-long flight, I reached Kochi and hoped on to a cab. Its almost midnight and the driver kept his car clean, cool and it was smelling good. During the chat, I asked him, being a driver taking many passengers a day, you are seeing life, a lot more than many. And I asked him to tell some of his memorable experiences with them.
For the one next hour, while covering almost thirty miles to home, he shared intense personal and emotional experiences with his passengers whom he picked and dropped in the last three years. Each story is touching and compelling, and he told it visually which made it more enjoyable.
How we see life through the eyes of others help us to build empathy in a world where self-love is most celebrated.
